PHILADELPHIA FUNDRAISING ASSOCIATION SELECTS FERNLEY & FERNELY AS NEW MANAGEMENT HEADQUARTERS

PHILADELPHIA – (January 2012) The Association of Fundraising Professionals - Greater Philadelphia Chapter (AFP-GPC) has chosen Fernley & Fernley, Inc. to be its new Association Management Company. Based in Philadelphia, Fernley & Fernley has been a leader in the non-profit management industry for well over a century.
Founded in 1968, AFP-GPC strives for excellence, encourages diversity and models professionalism in the pursuit of ethical and effective philanthropy. AFP-GPC membership is comprised of approximately 650 fundraising professionals throughout Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester Counties in Pennsylvania, and Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties in New Jersey.
AFP-GPC is one of the largest chapters of the International Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), which represents more than 30,000 members in 227 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. Locally, AFP-GPC offers monthly educational, mentoring and networking opportunities in addition to hosting two large scale events annually, The Franklin Forum scheduled for May 3, 2012 at the ACE Conference Center and National Philanthropy Day which is held in November in center-city. Chapter President, Jaime L. Howard expressed her enthusiasm by commenting - “We are excited about the partnership with Fernley & Fernley and how it will enable the chapter to build upon our achievements and increase resources and opportunities for our members and fundraising professionals throughout the region.”
Ethan Gray will serve as Executive Director for AFP-GPC. Ethan joined Fernley & Fernley in 2006 and has worked on behalf of a variety of non-profit organizations including the Eastern Nursing Research Society, Association of Oncology Social Work, the New York State Society of Physician Assistants and the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Syracuse University.
