November 2010 (Philadelphia) - Fernley & Fernley, Inc. has been named the "2011 Family Business of the Year" by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC).
With Our Appreciation
"We have recently been recognized by leaders in the Philadelphia business community for being a pioneer in creating an industry and using the family structure and value system to achieve new heights for five generations," commented G.A. Taylor Fernley, President and CEO.
The First of its Kind
The firm has the distinction of being the first Association Management Company (AMC) in the country having founded the concept in 1886. T. James Fernley was a successful hardware wholesaler and a member of the Hardware Merchants and Manufacturers Association when he developed the AMC concept. Soon after, his son joined the firm and the two quickly earned a reputation for exceptional leadership within the non-profit community. That tradition of innovation and quality customer service continues today at Fernley & Fernley, which currently provides professional management to over 20 national professional societies and trade associations.
