Philadelphia, PA - Fernley & Fernley's President & CEO, G.A. Taylor Fernley was surprised with a dual celebration this month at the firm's center-city headquarters. In addition to congratulating Fernley for 35 years in the non-profit management industry, guests also showered him with well wishes on his milestone birthday. Family, friends, business associates, and colleagues surprised Fernley by transforming the entire 4th floor office space into a 'Western Bonanza'.
Mr. Fernley entered the family business three decades ago under the tutelage of his late father, Robert "Bob" Fernley. Fernley learned the ropes the old fashion way; starting at the bottom and working his way up in order to gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the firm. He honed his management skills as Account Executive for one of the firm's trade associations, now known as the Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA). Fernley is the fourth generation to lead the nation's first established Association Management Company (AMC).
In addition to running a thriving AMC, Fernley routinely donates his time by serving in leadership positions in the association and hospitality industry. Some of his affiliations include the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Association Management Company Institute (AMCI), Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB), and the Mid-Atlantic Employers Association (MEA). He is also active within many national and international business organizations including VISTAGE, a membership organization of 13,000 CEOs worldwide.
Fernley firmly believes in giving back to the community which he has done over the years through his involvement in numerous civic and community organizations. He has served on the Board of the National Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America, National Liberty Museum, Gladwyne Civic Association, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, as well as being an active member of the Merion Golf Club.
Taylor Fernley and his wife Pamela Moyer Fernley reside in Gladwyne, PA with their two sons, Kyle and Todd.
