Caitlin E. Middleton Promoted to Executive Director for Fernley & Fernley, Inc.

Philadelphia, PA - Fernley & Fernley, Inc. is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Caitlin E. Middleton to the position of Executive Director. Ms. Middleton began her career with Fernley & Fernley in July 2007 and quickly progressed from Administrative Director to Associate Director for the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA), one of Fernley’s thirty non-profit clients.
As Executive Director for the FEA, Ms. Middleton will manage daily operations at the direction of the volunteer Board of Directors. Through her various roles within FEA, Ms. Middleton has worked to streamline processes involving membership and committee work and endeavored to assist the association in staying true to its Mission Statement. This recent promotion is a natural progression for this dedicated association professional.
Ms. Middleton graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Advertising. She is an active member of the Delaware Valley Society of Association Executives (DVSAE).
The FEA is the only national trade organization formed to represent the Qualified Intermediary (QIs) industry and the interests of consumers who use these services. Qualified Intermediaries are professionals who are trained to execute 1031 Exchanges. The FEA also represents the legal and tax advisors as well as affiliated businesses that are directly involved in Section 1031 Exchanges. Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code provides that no gain or loss shall be recognized on the exchange of property held for productive use in a trade or business, or for investment.
