Medical Association Selects Fernley & Fernley, Inc. as New Association Headquarters

PHILADELPHIA – Fernley & Fernley, Inc., known as America’s first association management company (AMC), has been chosen to serve as national headquarters for the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA).
AMWA is an organization of women physicians, medical students, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to serving the unique voice for women’s health and the advancement of women in medicine. Founded by Dr. Bertha Van Hoosen in 1915, at a time when women physicians were an under represented minority.
AMWA previously operated as a standalone association with an office and staff based in the Washington, D.C. area. The Board determined that a significant change in the overall management structure was necessary in order to achieve their strategic goals of financial stability and growth for the association. This decision led them to seriously consider the AMC model of management.
Lindsay Groff will serve as Executive Director and is responsible for implementing the necessary steps to achieve the association’s goal of increasing membership, as well as ensuring that a strategic focus is maintained throughout all association activities.
