Monica Mobley, CMP

Monica Mobley, CMP is a member of the Fernley & Fernley Meeting Planning Department. She has been with the firm for two years and works with a variety of non-profit clients to plan and produce successful meetings, conferences, and tradeshows. Her clients are professional societies in the medical field and also trade associations. Monica is described as knowledgeable, personable, and professional by her colleagues.

Monica was recently awarded a meeting planner scholarship to attend the Professional Convention Management Association"s (PCMA) Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held January 10-13, 2010 in Dallas, TX. The Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau sponsored the program which awarded 100 scholarships to meeting planners across the country. Scholarships cover registration fees, housing and airfare. The PCMA scholarship application process required a short essay from Monica outlining why she wanted to attend the meeting. Monica is looking forward to networking with her peers and attending educational sessions in Dallas as well as experiencing firsthand what the city has to offer conference attendees.

Monica celebrated another accomplishment this past summer when she earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. The CMP designation, established in 1985, was designed to increase the professionalism of meeting managers in all sectors of the industry; recognize and raise industry standards; and increase the value of these practitioners to their employees and individuals to whom their services are provided. It involves a two-part process consisting of an application and a written examination administered by an independent testing agency. Candidates for the CMP are required to have at least three years of meeting planning experience. Monica attended weekend classes last spring in preparation for the assessment and it paid off!

All of her colleagues at Fernley & Fernley are proud of Monica"s recent achievements and congratulate her!
